General Conditions for Taxi and Healthcare Transport (KNV - Netherlands)
1. Formation of the transport agreement
- An agreement is made when the taxi company accepts the passenger’s request for transport.
2. Obligations of the passenger
- The passenger must follow reasonable instructions from the driver.
- The passenger must behave properly and avoid causing nuisance or damage.
- The passenger is responsible for any damage they cause to the taxi or equipment.
3. Payment
- Payment must be made immediately after the ride, unless otherwise agreed.
- The fare is either based on the taximeter or a fare agreed in advance.
- Payment can usually be made by cash, debit card, or credit card.
4. Baggage
- Passengers may carry normal, reasonably sized luggage at no extra charge.
- Dangerous or illegal goods are not allowed.
- The driver may refuse luggage that could cause danger or significant inconvenience.
5. Liability
- The carrier is liable for damages caused by negligence.
- The carrier is not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, or other unavoidable circumstances (force majeure).
6. Cancellation and termination
- The passenger can cancel the ride free of charge within a reasonable time before the scheduled pickup.
- If the passenger cancels late, the carrier may charge a reasonable cancellation fee.
- The driver may terminate the ride in case of serious misconduct by the passenger.
7. Disputes
- Disputes can be submitted to the Disputes Committee for Healthcare Transport and Taxi.
- These general terms apply to all transport agreements with members of KNV Healthcare Transport and Taxi or carriers holding a valid TX quality mark.
